How To Apply For A Scholarship

How to Apply for a Scholarship?

You can obtain the application forms by downloading them from the web site during the application period or by visiting any one of the following offices:

  1. Ministry of Public Administration, Scholarships and Advanced Training Division, 5th Floor, National Library Building, Corner Hart and Abercromby Streets, Port of Spain (8.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday);
  2. Tobago House of Assembly, Calder Hall Administrative Complex, Corner Calder Hall and Government House Road, Scarborough, Tobago;
  3. Offices of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Government Diplomatic Missions.
  4. TTConnect Service Centres addresses  as in advertisement.

To be considered for the award of a scholarship, please submit the completed application form together with photocopies of supporting documents before the application closing date to:

Ministry of Public Administration, Scholarships and Advanced Training Division, 5th Floor, National Library Building, Corner Hart and Abercromby Streets, Port of Spain (8.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday)

The Application Process 

Short-listed applicants:  (i)  Must submit all the original documents  (ii) M ay be required to attend an interview.   Successful candidates will then be nominated for an award.

GENERAL INFORMATION  FOR  APPLICANTS

  • Scholarships are offered by/through the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.  
  • Preference may be given to study in those areas or sectors which have been identified as priority in terms of this country’s human resource requirements, click here  

Generally, applications for all scholarships offered by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago must be supported by:

  • A complete Curriculum Vitae
  • Plan of Study in the case of post graduate studies
  • Copies of all academic certificates, degrees or diplomas
  • Transcripts (originals must arrive under sealed cover) 
  • Two References. In the case of post graduate studies one reference should be from the academic institution last attended by the applicant (originals must arrive under sealed cover) 
  • Copies of Birth Certificates with affidavit in cases where the names of applicants do not appear on their Birth Certificates or where names appearing on certificates differ in any way from those appearing on other documents. Copy of the biodata page of a valid Trinidad and Tobago Passport.  If this is not available a copy of the Electoral Identification card (front and back)
  • Copies of Proof of change of name, if applicable

Other Requirements may be requested depending on the nature of the scholarships

N.B. All original documentation must be produced  ON REQUEST

Applicants must arrange for their transcripts and letters of reference to be sent directly to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration (Scholarships and Advanced Training Division) 5th Floor, National Library Building, Corner Hart and Abercrombry Streets, Port of Spain.

Interested persons applying from abroad must:

  • submit completed application forms with supporting documents through the Trinidad and Tobago Government Diplomatic Mission in the country from which they are applying.

Applicants who are Public Officers/Employees of Statutory Authorities must submit their application through their Permanent Secretaries/Heads of Departments/Heads of Statutory Authorities, as appropriate. 

Applications which do not adhere to the above instructions or are submitted after the closing date will not be accepted
