Developing Our National Scholars

The Scholarships and Advanced Training Division is dedicated to providing opportunities for our scholars.

Below we've listed some of the programmes which focus on developing our scholars once they've completed their courses of study.

The Associate Professional Programme

The Associate Professional programme was developed to ensure the seamless absorption of all government scholars into appropriate jobs commensurate with their qualifications, in both the  public and private sector.

You (the scholar) will be placed as an Associate Professional with a Ministry /Department/Organisation for a maximum period of two years to perform a particular job commensurate with your qualifications.  It is expected that the Associate Professional will  transition into more permanent employment within one year of his/her assignment.

The programme provides scholars with  much needed work experience required to enhance their marketability.

 The Professional Development Programme

This is a six (6) month development programme for all national scholars which aims to build competencies in the following areas:

• Drive for results
• Learning and improving
• Strategic decision making
• Constructive/critical thinking
• Building productive relationships
• Communicating with impact
